Thomas Lee Griffiths explores the constructs of male culture, how roles vary amongst different environments and how these are affecting queer identities. This is observed and mimicked through video and sculptural works. Observing the archetypical male or “lad culture” and playing with the idea of sexual fetishes arising through these, elements are combined to create ironic, humorous and non-idyllic representations. The use of intense crude visuals, manipulated footage and metaphorical objects, distort the bleak reality of juxtaposing entities.
